Over the past three years, AIGA’s Eye on Design blog has offered a fresh and intelligent perspective on the world’s most exciting designers and the issues they care about. With an approach that’s considered, unexpected and increasingly global, Eye on Design investigates topics like mental health, sexuality, education, and gender disparity through a design lens. With its Pilot Issue #00, Eye on Design expands outside of its digital-only platform with a quarterly print magazine, which offers a new flexibility to experiment with design ideas, printing methods, story formats and deep dives into quarterly themes. Eye on Design was founded in 2014 by Perrin Drumm as AIGA’s premier publishing platform. The first print issue is designed by Tala Safie, a graduate student in SVA’s MFA Design program.
